The second leg of the skittles finally took place at the Cat & Fiddle on Monday 17th November.
Two reluctant skippers were thrust together for the toss won by the travelling team. Plymouth elected to bat first.
The First Leg:
EXETER 49
PLYMOUTH 45
The Second Leg:
EXETER 54
PLYMOUTH 49
The Third Leg:
EXETER 58
PLYMOUTH 57
The Fourth Leg:
EXETER 55
PLYMOUTH 49
The Fifth Leg:
EXETER 51
PLYMOUTH 48
We were winning each of the legs but not by enough as we were a good half century down from the first match.
The Sixth Leg:
EXETER 52
PLYMOUTH 63
That sealed the overall result and our fate.
The Seventh Leg:
EXETER 61
PLYMOUTH 48
The Eighth Leg:
EXETER 50
PLMOUTH 52
RESULT OF THE HOME LEG:
EXETER FALCONS 430 PLYMOUTH DEVILS 411
We won the HOME LEG
Sadly, when the scores were added together the result was:
EXETER FALCONS 826
PLYMOUTH DEVILS 861
So the trophy was presented to Plymouth so they could enjoy their journey home with something to sing about.
