Heat 1: New Track Record.
Heat 3: Bridger R/R. Bridger by 30 yards but eased off on last lap.
Heat 4: Piper for Day. Piper got into deep rut on gate 1 and went no-where everyone was laughing there heads off.
Heat 5: Bridger won by a long way.
Heat 6: 59.4 the time yes it was 4 laps. Mason fell while leading.
Heat 7: Cross R/R.
Heat 8: Track Awful.
Heat 10: Smith R/R
Heat 11: Bridger T/R. No Rider in Blue.
Heat 12: No Rider in Blue Again.
Heat 13: D Mason was poor at Back.
Heat 14: Brown R/R. 2 Finshers only.

Could anyone enlighten us as to what happened in heat 15 as wasnt made apparent on Liveupdates at the time.

If an FX what happened?

From what people have said it appears that the 5 riders wearing the Falcons racejacket did themselves proud under the circumstances.

Heat 15 was the heat of the night.

Following Tom Brown's superb pass of Sam Hurst round the outside of the fourth bend right in front of us during heat 14 the scores had Exeter two points behind Weymouth with one heat to go.

It was all on Heat 15.

Lewis Bridger 3 3 3 6 3 was guaranteed to win so it was up to Tom Brown to win the match for us.

Tom Brown was an improver 1 2 0 3 3 so we had a chance.

"Our Boys" were up against the Weymouth pairing:

Karl Mason 3 3 2 2 - Scores declining so we had some hope

and

Lee Smart 2 2 3 2 - Always good to watch and certainly a trier.

My call: Bridger, Smart, Mason with Tom Brown determining the result of the match. If Tom could beat Mason the scores would be level.

As it happens, Tom Brown got out of the gate and led the heat which in my mind was enough for a Falcons victory, but the shock came when Lee Smart was ahead of Lewis Bridger by the third bend. I thought we could look forward to some good racing as Bridger was always going to attempt a pass.

Smart rode well chasing down Brown, and Bridger rode well making several attempts to pass Smart. On turn 3 of the fourth lap with Karl Mason having pulled up with mechanical problems the result was in our hands BROWN,SMART,BRIDGER.

Bridger made his final move coming inside Smart and Lee Smart went down on the fourth bend and Brown followed by Bridger finished for a 5 point score and a win to the Falcons. We cheered.

Speedway is a funny sport and referees can influence matches greatly. There was a small doubt as Bridger and Smart had come very close together. My feeling is that if the Falcons had been at home Smart would have had to get back on his bike and ride in for a point but as we were away Bridger was excluded.

That all seemed immaterial as the rain chose that very moment to start dropping and soon we were inside the bar with a torrential downpour happening outside.

It was a good meeting (Note the word Meeting Nevs) and I am glad I took the trouble to go. If I get the time I will do a match report which includes a hat trick of goals for Adam Filmer.
