I see on the British Speedway website that Plymouth have entered a team in the National League in 2014.
Anyone know what the team is to be called?

It was always going to be Exeter Falcons but apparently this is now unacceptable to the plymouth fans so it will be Devon Demons. This follows the axing of Mark Lemon three days after he signed his new contract. watch this space!

Double disappointment for me. Very sad that the stupid rivalry that has always existed between certain factions of support of Exeter City and Plymouth Argyle seems to have found its way into speedway. I've no idea what happened re Lemo but isn't it typical of the Mickey Mouse world of speedway these days that a contract can be deemed worthless after just 72 hours, presumably by one side only ? Wolverhampton apparently have no objection to Dudley changing their name to that of one of Wolves' ' old enemies ' , Cradley, and using the Monmore Green track for the Cradley meetings. Why oh why can't the same thing happen at Plymouth ? Pathetic. Can't see very many old Falcons fans going to watch the NL side now, frankly.

I agree Squibby its really sad. With all the disappointment of not finding a track I hoped at least if we could run a NL team as Exeter Falcons as it would be something to cheer. To be polite I'm heart broken. I won't say how I really feel not before the water shed. Everyone supported Mattie's efforts to get a retro team going, and Rob Doran has worked hard providing a new racejackets and organising the junior training day with Jan O Pedersen. I know Rob is also devastated. So the only way now if up, so lets see if we can create a training facilty. The search begins once more. The Falcons will fly again.

Oh yes I forgot. What upsets me most is that I came up with the nickname Devon Demons back in 1995 when Colin launched his original Conference League team. I even used the Plymouth Devil emblem on the racejacket.
