Just caught the end of the news on Radio Exe this morning, and my ears pricked up when I heard the word Speedway, and it was about somebody winning an award, and that it was good that this had happened even though there isn't any Speedway in Exeter at the moment, anybody know about this?

My wife heard this too, and she told me it was the lad Henry Atkins. Don't quote me on it though. Squibby

Correct it was Henry Atkins it was the Pride of Devon Awards 2014 Henry won the Child of Achievement award. Well done Henry. Somerset club Mascot scoped one of the top awards at the Pride of Devon ceremony on Friday evening held at Westpoint the home of the Devon County Show, the event was sponsored by the Exeter Guildhall shopping Centre and award winning Radio Exe. Henry won the Child of Achievement award for all his efforts and consistent performances in Speedway and Grasstrack. Henry was the youngest winner on the night and when his achievements were read out a massive cheer and round of applause made way for him to receive his award from the sponsor of the award, Interline Building Supplies Manager Mike Lewis and Mark Tyler the former Westcountry TV Presenter. Henry was overwhelmed by the award and can't thank his sponsors, management and fans at Somerset Speedway and all that have helped him so far in his racing career both at speedway and organisers of all Grasstrack clubs. Most of all he wants to thank all those that voted for him.
