Exeter Falcons set to roar once more from a new track!
More than 100 Exeter Falcons fans attended a packed public meeting to hear prospective promoters Rob Doran and Alan Spencer announce that they had found a site for a new track, writes Tony Lethbridge.

Doran and Spencer have successfully run a development level Exeter team at Somerset this season and were determined to find a new venue. They were further encouraged by the massive support they received after staging a full 15 heat match against Cradley at the Oak Tree Arena back in June.
“We have been planning this for some time.” said Doran. “I am pleased to say we have now located an excellent site and already reached agreement with the landowner. I must stress that we have no intention of naming the location until after a planning application has been entered. We have seen too many plans forestalled by over eager announcements which allow any opposition to protest. Hopefully there will be little obstruction to our plans, but for the present they must remain confidential.”
To help raise the necessary finance for the development of the new track it has been decided to launch a ‘Trust’. At present supporters are being invited to pledge £100 towards the cost of building the track.
“The idea of a ‘Trust’ was suggested at our meeting,” explained Doran. “Several fans told us that the one set up by the Exeter City FC has worked well. We will be having talks with the football club and have already set a target of 1,000 members. At present we are only asking for pledges, and will not ask for cash until planning permission has been granted. Within three days of the meeting 65 fans had made pledges.”
The 2015 Falcons were due in action at Somerset last Friday but unfortunately suffered their first rain off of the season.
