Just three heats were run before the meeting had to be abandoned.

Sadly, a heavy downpour around 8pm put paid to the much-anticipated NL-level meeting between Falcons and Isle of Wight at the OTA on 27th May. Only three heats were completed before the Heavens opened for around twenty minutes, leaving the track unrideable, and Referee Mr Graham Reeve had no option but to abandon the meeting. The Falcons led 10 - 8 after three heats. Danny Ayres won heat 1, with Matt Bates third. Nick Phillips and young Henry Atkins grabbed a 5 - 1 in heat 2, but the Warriors reversed that in heat 3 when Baseby and Smart outpaced Matt Bates and Ryan Terry-Daly. Dan Greenwood fell on the first bend of Heat 4, and was excluded, but then the rains came and that was that. Very disappointing indeed for all.

Sadly, after just one heat of the planned six at the OTA on Friday 15th July, the Falcons mini-meeting against Castleford was abandoned, due to a hole appearing on bends 1 & 2. The meeting referee deemed the track too dangerous to continue. Hoping for better luck next Friday evening.
