On 12 May Nathan Stoneman rode as a guest reserve for Championship team Glasgow Tigers away at their namesakes from Sheffield, and scored 2 + 1 in a 45-45 draw.
Also on that day Connor Coles scored 9 + 1 from five outings as his side Stoke Potters lost 42 - 44 at home to Kent Kings in the NL.

This evening saw Plymouth Gladiators go down 41 -49 at home to the Mildenhall Fen Tigers in a National Trophy meeting. The Tigers should now go forward but sadly the Gladiators will not be joining them.
Richard Andrews scored 7, with a fall in one of his four outings.
Adam Sheppard was busy again, and added a good 6 points, with one bonus, including what I believe was his first heat win at NL level when team-ridden home by Adam Extance.
Henry Atkins scored 2 + 1 as Somerset Rebels pulled off a great 50 -40 win at Scunthorpe Scorpions in the Championship.
Connor Coles rode as a guest reserve for Glasgow Tigers in their comfortable 56 - 33 home victory over Eastbourne Eagles, again in the Championship, and scored 2 + 1.

Henry Atkins suffered misfortune at the OTA tonight, where Somerset Rebels defeated the Eastbourne Eagles 54 - 36.
He had 1 + 1 from Heat 2, but in his next ride, in trying to pass Eagles guest reserve Connor Coles, Henry clipped Connor's rear wheel and fell awkwardly. He was withdrawn from the rest of the meeting and I gather was taken to hospital with a suspected shoulder injury.
Hopefully he will not be out for long.
Connor Coles scored 2 + 1 and has been a popular guest reserve at Championship level recently.

The Plymouth Gladiators came away with no points from their visit to the National Speedway Stadium on Thursday evening, losing 40 -50 to the Belle Vue Colts in a NL encounter, despite a spirited effort.
Richard Andrews scored 11 + 1, behind top scorer Ben Wilson who had 14. Nathan Stoneman added 6 + 2 and Adam Sheppard just 1 ( from three rides only ).
Also in the NL, the IOW Warriors beat Stoke Potters 48 - 42, with Connor Coles scoring 7 for the Potters.
( I gather that Henry Atkins has suffered a dislocated shoulder so may be out for a few weeks, whilst it recovers full strength again.)

Richard Andrews scored 9 + 1 from five rides as the Gladiators drew 45 all with the IOW Warriors in this, the home team's final National Trophy meeting.
It was pretty close throughout, level after 13. A 5 - 1 to the Gladiators in heat 14 gave hope for a win, but Georgie Wood and Ben Morley saw off a determined Nathan Stoneman for a 5-1 that earned a draw. Richard Andrews was berating himself for missing the gate in heat 15, but he still returned a total that is a couple of points above the average he started this season with, so he should not be too hard on himself.
Nathan scored 9 and Adam Sheppard 2 + 1.
Henry Atkins was at the meeting, and in an interview on the centre green confirmed a dislocated shoulder and that it could be 3/4 weeks before it is strong enough again for him to resume racing.
Glasgow won 47 - 43 away at Armadale, Edinburgh on the same evening in a Championship Shield meeting. Connor Coles again guested at Number 6 for Tigers, scoring a valuable 4 + 1. His sterling efforts as a guest reserve for various teams in the Championship lately may just earn him a permanent slot somewhere at that level soon ??

In the Championship KO Cup First round, Glasgow Tigers knocked out fellow Tigers Sheffield, winning 54 - 36 at home on Tuesday. Guest reserve for Glasgow, Connor Coles, fought hard but scored just 1 point from his three outings.
Tonight, Birmingham Brummies won 50 - 40 at home against Eastbourne Eagles, but lost overall by 82 - 97. Nathan Stoneman enjoyed an excellent night at Number 7 for Brummies, scoring paid 12. He ran four seconds ( two paid wins ) and one third place ( paid second ).
Well done Nathan !
