In the NL tonight, Plymouth Gladiators pipped visiting Isle of Wight Warriors 46 - 44.
Richard Andrews again had a good night, scoring 13 from his five rides.
Adam Sheppard managed 4 points, including winning heat 2.
Gladiators used R/R for Nathan Stoneman, who is injured. I do not know what the problem is at present.
In the Championship, Somerset Rebels went down 42 - 48 away at Glasgow Tigers, but picked up a valuable point. Henry Atkins scored 3 + 2.
Connor Coles guested at reserve for Edinburgh Monarchs in their home win over Redcar Bears by 49 -41, but scored just one point.

In the NL tonight, Henry Atkins made his debut for Mildenhall Fen Tigers away at Stoke Potters, and Tigers went down 51 - 38. Henry scored 4 from four rides, including one ride where he fell and was excluded from the rerun.
Connor Coles totalled 9 + 1 from his four outings for Stoke.
Richard Andrews picked up a guest booking at reserve for Scunthorpe Scorpions in a Championship fixture away at Arlington Stadium, where the Eastbourne Eagles easily claimed three points, winning 56 - 34. Sadly, it was a tough night for Richie, who only had three rides, finishing last in two and falling in the other.
Tomorrow he guests for Swindon Sprockets Select in a 15-heat meeting at Swindon.

In the second leg of their Challenge meeting against Somerset Rebels Select the Gladiators were pipped 45 -44, and lost on aggregate by 88 - 91.
Richard Andrews scored 9 + 1 from five rides, Nathan Stoneman 8 from five and Adam Sheppard 4 + 1 from five outings.
Henry Atkins managed 8 from four rides for Rebels, and Saul Bulley one point from three rides.
Ben Barker guested at Number 1 for Gladiators, and scored an immaculate five ride maximum, recording the top four quickest times, including 51.03 to win heat 13.
Elsewhere, Connor Coles again guested at reserve for the Edinburgh Monarchs in their home Championship meeting against neighbours Glasgow Tigers. He scored just 1 + 1 from five rides as Monarchs lost out 43 - 45.

It proved to be an eventful but none too successful day for riders with West Country links on Sunday 30 June.
In the Championship, Connor Coles again guested at reserve for Edinburgh Monarchs and scored 2 points as Monarchs went down 35 - 55.
Somerset Rebels lost 38 -52 at Owlerton against Sheffield Tigers, where Henry Atkins also scored just two. There was some complaint from Rebels riders about the heavy track but it could not have been that bad as former Tiger Todd Kurtz won a heat in only 0.3 outside the existing track record of 59.1 seconds.
Leicester Lions lost 33 - 57 away at Eastbourne Eagles. Plymouth Gladiators rider Adam Extance was a guest reserve for the Lions, scoring a single point on the tricky Arlington circuit.
Finally, Mildenhall Fen Tigers won a Challenge meeting at home to Thurrock Hammers, whose line-up of selected guest riders included both Richard Andrews and Nathan Stoneman. Both found it hard going. Richard had three third places and a fall, whilst Nathan scored just one point, falling on three occasions to add to a spill on Friday at the Coliseum. I hope his recent knee problem did not suffer a setback as a result.

Richard Andrews tonight again rode for the Swindon Sprockets Select side, this time in the second leg of the Challenge against Kent Kings.
Kings squeezed home 46 - 43 on home shale. Richard managed just 2 + 1.
The Sprockets had won their home leg on 23 June by 45 - 44, so Kings ran out winners by an aggregate of 90 - 88.
Richard had an even worse night tonight at Kent, scoring just a solitary point from four outings on a track I know for a fact he really likes. Not sure why - maybe he has taken on just too many meetings in too short a time frame ??

At the OTA on Wednesday evening the Somerset Rebels beat Scunthorpe Scorpions by 55 - 35 in their Championship clash.
Henry Atkins scored 4 from his four rides, including a heat win when team-ridden home by former Exeter Falcon Chris Harris ahead of the ex-Rebel Jake Allen.
Well done both Rebels !

Whilst I was off on a long weekend in a seaside caravan with family, a good bit happened speedway-wise.
The Gladiators sadly lost narrowly at home to Kent Kings on the Friday night in the NL. The score was 44 - 46, and the loss was mainly due to two crashes for Nathan Stoneman, after which he was withdrawn from the meeting.
Adam Sheppard scored 8 + 1 from 6 rides, and Richard Andrews 4 from four.
Saul Bulley guested for Kings at Number 7 and scored a respectable 4 + 1 from his four outings.
On the Saturday, Gladiators lost again, this time by 39 - 50 in their NL encounter at Loomer Road, home of Stoke Potters. Richard Andrews had 7 + 1 from four rides and Adam Sheppard continued his better scoring form with 4 + 3 from five. Anders Rowe guested for the injured Nathan Stoneman and scored 12 + 1 from 6 rides.
In the Championship on Saturday, Connor Coles was at reserve for Edinburgh Monarchs, scoring a decent 4 + 1 from four outings as Monarchs lost 36 - 54 at Arlington against the Eastbourne Eagles. Coles' place for Stoke was taken by guest Jason Edwards, who proved a top choice with 14 from 5 rides.

Nathan Stoneman is taking three weeks rest and recuperation to try and get rid of a niggling injury that has troubled him for some time now.
His place in the Gladiators line-up is being taken by Luke Chessell, who has been signed on a 21-day injured rider contract.
Good luck to both.
