Before tonight's Championship clash at the OTA between Somerset Rebels and Birmingham Brummies, young Henry Atkins showed off his British Masters 250cc Winners Trophy, the third year in succession he has won this.
Sadly, he fared badly in the meeting, failing to score from four rides. He was leading his second ride when he lifted violently and crashed into the air fence off bends 3 and 4, but was ok to continue in two later heats. He retired in one.
Ben Barker, a one-time Falcon, guested for Rebels in place of the injured Nico Covatti and did well, scoring 10 + 1 from four rides.
Rebels took the three points, winning 55 - 35.

The NL Fours meeting was held at Loomer Road, Stoke on Saturday evening. Plymouth Gladiators were in Group B, but their 8 points saw them finish joint third and so not progress to the Final. Richard Andrews scored 3 from his rides. The final was won by Stoke Potters, using home shale to just pip the Isle of Wight by one point, with Mildenhall a further point adrift. Kent were last. Connor Coles contributed 5 in the Group stage and 3 in the final, including a second place in the lat heat to clinch the title for Potters.
Henry Atkins scored 3 for Mildenhall in the Final.

The second leg of the Championship KO Cup clash between Newcastle and Edinburgh took place at Brough Park on Sunday, and the Diamonds were victorious by 56 - 34, so progressing on aggregate.
Connor Coles rode at Number 7 for Monarchs and scored 1 from his first two rides before a crash in his third outing saw him excluded, and he took no further part in the meeting.
Mildenhall Fen Tigers had a comfortable 53 - 37 home victory over Stoke Potters in the NL, with Henry Atkins racking up three heat wins. He fell in his first race, and ran a last in heat 15, but 9 is a decent effort.
Gladiators recent signing David Wallinger guested for Coles in the Stoke team, and scored 6 + 1 at the track from where he was only very recently released.

Two meetings on Wednesday evening in the Championship involved riders with Exeter connections.
Somerset Rebels hit a 5 - 1 in heat 15 to secure three league points and deny visiting Berwick a point. They won 49 - 41, with Henry Atkins scoring one point from his three rides. It seems Henry is finding it hard at this level and it is to be hoped he can up his scoring a bit soon.
Edinburgh Monarchs did grab an away point, losing 42 - 47 at Leicester Lions. Connor Coles had five rides, managing 2 points.
