The first of three legs of a 4-Team Challenge took place on the Isle of Wight tonight, sponsored by Silver Ski Holidays.
The Kent Kings topped the chart with 33 points, followed by the Warriors with 30.
Plymouth Gladiators came next on 20, with Richard Andrews contributing 5 points.
The Breen Construction Stars did not live up their team name, scoring just 13 points. They were put together to replace Mildenhall Fen Tigers who pulled out of the tournament a week or so ago.
The Plymouth leg is this Friday and I believe the Kent leg is on Saturday.

The second leg of the Silver Ski Holidays Fours at the Coliseum tonight saw a huge improvement in the Gladiators' fortunes. They dominated throughout and won this leg with 44 points. Richard Andrews rekindled his form with a 12-point maximum. The Isle of Wight Warriors scored 27, Kent Kings 14 and Breen Construction Stars just 9 points, Kris Andrews scoring 2 for Breen. Plymouth now lead on 64, IOW 57, Kent 44 and Breen 22. In the Championship, Edinburgh Monarchs won 52 - 38 at home to Berwick Bandits. Connor Coles scored a decent 5 + 1 for Monarchs from his Number 7 berth. A Coles riding for Edinburgh - just like old times !!

Henry Atkins has, at his own request, been taken out of the Somerset Rebels 1-7 and they have also dropped former Devil Todd Kurtz.
In comes former Rebel Nick Morris, along with Nathan Stoneman and Luke Harris.
The first task for the revised line-up is a home meeting against Glasgow on Wednesday.

Connor Coles scored 9 + 1 from five rides ( including a F/Ex ) and Nathan Stoneman 8 + 1 from five as the Oxford Cheetahs Select team they were both riding for went down 34 - 56 to the IOW Warriors last night.
This Challenge meeting at NL level was the first time the Cheetahs race bib has been seen for some years now.
Stoneman was the only visiting rider to lower the colours of Warriors Number 1 Georgie Wood, who scored 14 on his return from an injury lay-off.
By all accounts a very good crowd turned out, including a decent-sized contingent from Oxford SSC.

The visiting Leicester Lion Cubs were too strong for the Gladiators at the Coliseum last night, winning 52 - 38.
Adam Sheppard seemed to be down on power, scoring only 2 points. It was a difficult evening for Richard Andrews, who scored just 2 + 1, coming to grief in two of his rides. The second of these was due to a very brave attempt to catch the two Cubs in heat 14, ending in Richard collecting the air fence between the first and second bends on the last lap.
Occasional Falcon Jamie Bursill took a tumble in heat 8 and looked to have possibly a shoulder and/or collarbone problem, withdrawing from his final ride.

Connor Coles suffered a frustrating evening as his Stoke Potters side lost heavily at home to the Leicester Lion Cubs in the first leg of the NL KO Cup Semi-Final. Final score 34 - 56.
He ran a second and a third before falling and being excluded in his third outing. Connor did not take his last ride but I have no information as to his condition as yet.

The final leg of the Silver Ski Holidays Fours took place at Kent tonight.
The IOW won on the night with 24, Kent 20, Breen Construction Select 18 and Plymouth 15.
Nathan Stoneman scored 9 from four rides, and Richard Andrews 2 from three.
The Warriors won the Trophy with a grand total of 81, just two ahead of the Gladiators, with Kings on 67 and Breen trailing on 40.
The meeting had to be abandoned and the result called after heat 12, following a bad crash involving Gladiators' Adam Extance and Danno Verge from the Warriors. An extra ambulance had to be called and both riders were taken to hospital. No news as yet on their condition although I believe that Adam suffered more than Danno.
Connor Coles did not ride for either Edinburgh or Stoke following his crash mentioned in an earlier post. I have no further information on what injury he suffered.

Henry Atkins scored 12 points from 6 rides for Mildenhall Fen Tigers as they triumphed 51 - 39 away at Smallbrook Stadium, Isle of Wight tonight in the NL.
Nathan Stoneman added 10 + 2 from five outings as a guest for the Tigers.
( Warriors were weakened by the last-minute loss of Number 1 Georgie Wood, and Scott Campos withdrew after just one completed ride following a fall. Danny Ayres hit a full 18-point maximum for Tigers. )
