I have just received this email from Toni Svabs manager. Thoughts and prayers are with him. "in order to avoid incorrect information getting about on Toni's injuries after the crash in Argentina on Sunday 8th here is the latest and correct information: he was leading in his first race when 2 riders behind him tangled up and one of their bikes took off and hit the unsuspecting Toni who careered into the fence ( I assume head first). Onlookers say it was absolutely horrendeous. He is in hospital in a coma with very serious head injuries and is on life support. An operation on his skull was due late yesterday Argentinian time and I have not yet had an update but will keep you informed."

Encouraging news on Toni's condition on the main forum today -
There are some better news on Toni from Argentina. Tony can now breath unaided and the doctors say that he are on the right road. The news come from; Martin Marchegiani.
Fingers crossed this is reliable information coming across from overseas.

I got the following news last night from Rob but was asked to withhold it until after 5pm today in case anything happened during the day.
It is brilliant news and this is the report in local press.
They have got a tiny bit wrong in that Toni was not holding his wifes hand but actually squeezing it when she talked to him in various languages.
He is far from out of the woods but I think after speaking to Lol Hare just now Lol summed it up perfectly by saying at least he is there again now.
Rob did say the main thing now is getting cards and messages to Adrianna that she can read to him-so get those cardssent to Rob ASAP.

12:00 - 16 January 2006 Critically-injured former Exeter Falcons rider Toni Svab has shown tentative signs of improvement in the last few days.
The Czech star has been in hospital in Argentina for more than a week following a horrific crash last Sunday.
Svab has multiple injuries and is still on a life support machine, but he has opened his eyes, moved his toes and legs slightly and held his wife Adriana's hand. He has also responded to questions asked to him in a variety of languages.
Doctors at the Municipality Hospital in the city of Bahia Blanca have also stopped giving him medication that induced his coma.
But progress is still slow and the extent of his injuries won't be known until he comes round fully.
Messages of support can be sent to Toni through Robert Doran at Highfield Coachworks, Units 24 & 25, Dinan Way Industrial Estate, Exmouth, EX8 4EZ."
