Doctors have hailed former Exeter speedway rider Toni Svab as a 'miracle' as he continues his recovery from the life-threatening injuries he suffered in a track accident last month.
The 31-year-old Czech was in a coma for about two weeks after he sustained serious head injuries in a crash in the Argentinian national championships on January 8.
Svab's wife Adriana said: "Toni continues to improve. He is now at a rehabilitation unit near Buenos Aires.
"He was active and talkative throughout the seven-hour trip and the doctors are saying he's a miracle as he's doing a lot of activities each day. But he is very skinny now and it's still going to be a very long recovery. We would like to thank everyone who has sent their good wishes."
