Statto Wiktoko, could you please be kind enough to do some statto work for me and let me know what tracks in the UK will be like the proposed new Exeter one i.e. 320 metres. Am I right in thinking a bit bigger than Somerset? and maybe a bit like Swindon?

Am I right in thinking a bit bigger than Somerset? and maybe a bit like Swindon? Don't know to be honest - but if you want pics of all tracks to see which are banked etc try this link www.speedwayplus.com/stadia_pictures.shtmlAnyone know where a list of track lengths are without having to trawl the Net? Used to be on the BSPA site but they have trimmed the site down further this season to not contain anything useful.

From statistics from Tony ages ago when a similiar question was raised on the national forum regarding track lengths and records the only details I can find on my pc are that nobody else has a 320 metre track. Somerset is 300, while Peterborough is 336.Stoke 312, Reading 307. Kings Lynn is 342 and Hull was 346. None of these has or had banking as is intended for Exeter if the Exeter track gets the go ahead. The plan for Exeter is that it will be 10 metres longer on the straights than Somerset with banking on the corners according to Allen last week. There was a full list on the speedway forum ages ago and spent ages searching for the post tonight but appears to have been deleted. There was a full post with track records average speeds and length of tracks-just tried again but to no avail to find it. If you type in a search saying track and length it turns up about 136 pages-then tried track records again loads. I was looking for one particular post since 2003 --Given up now Must remember to copy and save such posts for future reference- as must you Mr Wiktorko lol-attention to detail my friend

Nevs, I have dozens and dozens of links to very useful information that no longer work. Saving the links is all very well but once the page is redundant as happens very frequently all the information is gone. If you find a page with useful information on it save the page to your hard drive. It will then be there until you decide to delete it. The internet is a fantastic tool but you cannot rely on any page to stay valid until you need the information. Now if only I followed my own advice I could find what I was looking for ................

All the track details were in the Speedway Star "Bumper Edition" back in March. Always have this to hand in our house as it settles a lot of arguments!!

Never mind the length (now where have I heard that before?) - it's great that the Haldon track is to be banked. Just wouldn't be the Falcons without the banking.

Just wouldn't be the Falcons without the banking. And may not be The Falcons just yet without those letters of support to... Mr Dave Radford, Head of Planning Services, Planning Department, Teignbridge District Council, Forde House, Newton Abbot, TQ12 4XX Remembering to quote the planning application number 06/05244/MAJ and including your name and address, as anonymous letters are not taken into considerationand explaining why you support the application for a speedway track at Haldon Racecourse. Nice one wealdenwillie-gave me the chance to bring the subject up again ;D

Now if only I could find what I was looking for ................ I expect the woman in the house has moved it-The female species have a strange tendancy to do that. You put something where you know it will be and the following day its been moved and the female doesnt recall moving it or where the hell she has put it!!!--Come on lads you know Im right. I am currently searching for 100 metres of flymo strimmer cord that was here yesterday but doesnt appear to be today. Hence the fact only half of the front lawn has been trimmed when the previous cord ran out. Anyone popping to Bikeworx tomorrow feel free to stick your head through me gate opposite and will witness I am not making it up. Women eh!!! ;D Oops went off topic for a second there. Yes hopefully the new track will have banking on the bends
