Are they allowed to publish such blatent lies like this? It makes me sick that a so called respectable charity should act like this. I have emailed them direct and asked for an explaination and for a copy of the independant report they quote from. If i recieve it i will let you know. Dont hold your breath.

if they did an independant test who provided the four speedway bikes for the noise test Same ones that supplied these 3 engines I guess-NASA by the sounds of it.   Now that would be noisey! And what really winds me up most is that the firm acting on their behalf in terms of noise and vibration specialists had the audacity to email me at home last year simply because they saw my email address on the forum asking me how many races were held what is the cc capapicity of bikes,what fuel is used-how long does a meeting last-how many races etc.etc and asking if I didnt know could I give them an email address of someone that could answer questions at Exeter Speedway. And yes I could give you the name of the person that sent that email and the firm he represents-but wont for now. And Im just a fan at the end of the day as simple as that-how dare they. Of course I answered them-yeah right. Very professional approach sure. ;D And these guys are their specialists?? |

Ha!!!!!! Just pleaded ignorance and phoned the consultants saying I was very concerned about the speedway noise and was hoping to help stop it on the web in some way but wanted to know about the noise and spoke to the bloke that sent me the email AND who happens to have done the noise tests himself personally so it turns out!!!.  I asked twice so you had bikes there?-where you testing at the time the speedway people did?-"No we did our tests and the speedway lot did theirs a few weeks later" No they did not use any bikes whatsoever-He has ESTIMATED the noise levels after doing general noise tests himself over a few days-(his words not mine)-and I said with those bikes running ?"No there were no bikes running-I took the background noise from there over a number of days and ESTIMATED what difference the bikes would make!!!!!!!!!!!!" Oh dearry dearry me-Amazing what you can find out when you play naieve and thick like. ;D Bet he shouldnt have just told me that ;D He has advised me to contact his client for further details ;D When I hung up I just looked at the phone in disbelief and said "You bloody plank mate" to meself  Even Craig couldnt believe it and was roaring his head off ;D |

Outrageous plans have been released which will mean Fire Engines roaring through the streets with astonishingly loud sirens at all times of the day and night and quite possibly disturbing my sleep. An independent survey, carried out by my mate Dave, has revealed that the decibel level might possibly be, in certain circumstances and with the wind in the right direction, around 120 db, loud enough to be heard in Togo, apparently. “It will be the equivalent of a Motorhead concert, ” said Dave, “fancy another beer?” A spokesman for the Fire Service, Captain Flack, said, “Your drunk, don’t be stupid”, when I approached him earlier this week complaining about the slight possibility that someone may get disturbed by the satanic sirens.
You can help fight the “noise polluting” (copyright Harcombe House 2006) sirens by not ringing 999 if your house is on fire or by sending an email of protest to nimby@whatplanetaretheyon.com
