Just heard from somebody at stoke tonight , Ben just had a nasty crash, looks as thogh he may have a broken femur after hitting the fence. Our thoughts are with you Ben hope it's not as bad as first thought. Just when we thought we were going to get the team together for the rest of the season, something else comes along to put paid to it.

If true, this is a disaster for young Ben. Hope it proves to be less bad than presently feared.

Doesn't look good
taken from main forum : -
"News on Ben is not good as we were told it's a complicated break of the left thigh and surgeons were going to operate about now (2.30am) to piece the bone together. He's also broken the lower part of his leg and the indications are too that he's likely to have a further op in a couple of days time.
Doctors anticipate him being in the Royal for approx 10 days before being transferred."
Best wishes Ben and hope you have a speedy recovery

Have just spoken to Ben's mum Mandy. Surgeons operated on Ben in the early hours of this morning to piece together and pin his broken thigh bone that occured when he was involved in a crash on the first bend in heat 8 at Stoke last night. The op seems to have gone well although, having lost a lot of blood, he'll be having a blood transfusion later. It appears that a skin graft may not be necessary as was first feared.
He'll have to undergo a further operation later this week to plate the lower half of his leg that was also broken in the accident.
He's likely to remain in the Stoke hospital until sometime in the middle of next week when it is hoped he can be transferred to the hospital in Truro.
Mandy thanks everyone for their concern and will keep myself updated on Ben's condition.
A collection will be held for him during tonight's CL double header at Sandy Lane.

Without meaning to cause offence to Ben what the hell more can go wrong this season! Matt Bates could be the replacement - that's what could go wrong! Best wishes from me for a speedy recovery Ben!!

Paul you are so nasty we only have 3 points in which to get a replacement with give the lad a chance or maybe just stick to racking the track!

Paul you are so nasty we only have 3 points in which to get a replacement with give the lad a chance or maybe just stick to racking the track! Well sorry if I think he is the most over-rated rider never to have ridden in the Premier League. He's more than welcome to prove me wrong.....
