I know for a fact that there is alot going on behind the scenes to try and secure the future of Exeter Speedway. I know that planning officials have been contacted sounding them out,I know for a fact the venue are keen to host the speedway. I also know that things like obtaining an affordable lease, planning the building, gaining planning permission take a lot of time and maybe 2006 is a bit too tight of a time schedule to achieve everything as a declaration to run for next season has to be launched with the BSPA in November and following the Plymouth debacle I guess they wont be over lenient on dates anymore(But that is purely my opinion I swear) and maybe 2007 is a better option if they are going to do it properly rather than half cocked. Also remember that potential backers need to have faith that the money they put in will see a return or they will be able to cope with the commitments they made if they go pear shaped be it Go -Speed or whoever. I also know for a fact that already there are people trying to put off potential backers with lies for their own gain-literally emailing them with pure lies. All this is fact. Rest assured people are trying to do the best they can to secure the future of Exeter Speedway I promise you. The last thing potential backers need to see is doom and gloom on here-lets try and keep positive guys -we are all Exeter diehards-so lets do all we can to help eh?

Good shout Nevsy, couldn't agree more - wherever the venue is and whoever the backers are they need to see that the support for speedway in Exeter is solid and dependable - not comprising of shallow negative pessimistic timewasters.

It's really sad how sly, devious and downright dishonest some folk can become when they think they're not going to get their hands on money they think they're entitled to, isn't it. I worked in the Fin. Services sector for over 30 years, dealing with wills and probate etc, so saw quite a few relatives/ friends who, before the person died, were just nice ordinary folk but who, after the deceased's Will was published, and they got nowt, or a lot less than they were expecting, would pull any stroke to get their hands on the dosh. I've even been in court and witnessed a brother and sister slagging one another off and accusing each other of undue influence over the dead parent etc etc. I suspect something similar has been tainting dear old CH's estate as regards his wish about Exeter Speedway and its future ? ' Money is the root of all evil ' - well, a close second to religious fundamentalism anyway !!
