Even though Allen is obviously right up to his neck in it at the moment in getting Oxford back up and running he has still taken the time this weekend to write and ask me to let everyone on here know that it is still all Systems go for Exeter at the moment in his plans to get us up and running again.
Quote
"When all the reports are in to the council I will update everyone. I have had great support from the BSPA and Peter Toogood and they all want Exeter back so please assure everyone that Exeter is still all systems go."
Hope that eases any people's apprehensions with Oxford appearing to be the centre of his attention in the past week or so, that his thoughts and plans are still very much in getting Exeter up and running again and that nothing has changed in that respect.
Thanks to Allen for taking the time to write, thinking about The Falcons fans on here, at what must be a totally crazy time for him trying to get things at Oxford put into place.

More to the point, do you have any info on what English Nature are up to. Is anyone in contact with them, or are they left to their own devices. If the future of Exeter Speedway is in their hands, as it appears to be, don't hold your breath.

Yes people are in contact with them,no they are not left to their own devices, and as and when there is news to report Allen has promised to update us all.
The wildlife survey has always been intended to run through until July. Reread the bit in yellow in initial post-especially the words "When all the reports are in to the council I will update everyone."

Any news on whether the bird survey has now been completed and, if so, how things stand with the planning application to TDC ?
I see Mr. Trump has asked all Oxford fans if they think a move for Oxford up to PL in 2008 is a good idea. It would be great if Falcons fans had some good news too - it has been a long wait !

Not the news everyone was hoping for Squibby. I must say that when I saw the teletext announcement I thought "Oh Bugger"! (well, something along those lines!)

Sorry to read on the BSPA website that Exeter have lost their planning application. Protection of reptiles it says. So no speedway in 2008 sadly.

Gutted to read the news today Still, it would appear from thisisexeter.co.uk that all is not lost and roll on 2009 now!!!. Very very disappointing all the same for 2008. Quote from thisisexeter.co.uk thisisexeter.co.uk/displayNode.jsp?nodeId=137332&command=displayContent&sourceNode=137087&contentPK=18173637&folderPk=79935&pNodeId=137010 Exeter Falcons promoter Allen Trump has vowed to continue the fight despite admitting defeat in his bid to resurrect the team in time for the 2008 season.Exeter has been without a speedway team since the Falcons were forced to leave their 76-year-old County Ground home at the end of the 2005 season.
But Trump, who has already spent more than £20,000 on the application, insists he is still committed to resurrecting the team in time for the start of the 2009 season.
He said: "I am particularly disappointed with the current state of affairs, having spent the last 18 months working on this project. Nevertheless we continue to fight on and in the end Exeter Speedway will be resurrected."
See Thursday's Echo Sport for full story. It will appear in full on this website on Friday."Unquote
