This was just in answer to a post on the national forum earlier and I really need bed now-so the first bit may not make sense and Im too tired to edit it all but just a few thoughts from today.
"Just to clear this up-I aint been in the least bit involved apart from trying to push it on here daily from the news I get and has been a laugh.
Craig has just finished editing the tunes for tomorrow night an hour ago and gone to bed shattered now we know the running order.
To me he doesnt really know what Sunday and Monday mean or the people he has met but I have assured him in time its going to be two days of his life that in time he will never forget.
There is a meeting at 3 pm about running orders that he needs to be there for and he is quite chuffed as he may get the afternoon off school.(means I have to do his paper round in the morning mind you blink.gif
The lad has worked his guts off tonight trying to edit re record and stuff onto mini discs. I am proud as punch of him-I have listened to his tunes as the old legends are introduced and I really hope it works out for him.
If it dont then never mind he has done the best he can.His last words were that Scott bloke seems quite a nice chap unsure.gif
This isnt about my son but everyone that is trying to make tonight a night to remember and in time I will get everyones names.-But Im brain dead now and need my bed
Trust me tomorrow(oh tonight now!!) is going to be something very special to remember all round for long serving Exeter fans.You got to be there guys.
Dont forget the Malthouse offer and a few of us are meeting up there at 4 if anyone fancies coming along.
No matter what happens-if you are coming to the County Ground tonight-enjoy it-have fun-make the most of it-enjoy the Exeter company (we arent such a bad lot after all) and most of all-take away some memories of a good night -cos to be sure you wont ever see the likes of it again.
And just to leave you with one lasting memory--Ivan Mauger was explaining his views when he first saw the track and his first meeting there-and used a naughty word =and then he was overtaken on his first meeting on the outside when he thought he was riding the track as wide as he could.
He said " When I was driving home I thought right I have to do this differently-next time the only gap between my bike and the fence will be paint"
Steve and rerun videos filmed the dinner and speeches and should be out before xmas-for those nostalgic make sure you get a copy.
I could go on and on-Lol was there-Greeny was there Chris Rockey a young lad helped Rob Doran set up the exhibitions. Like I said will post the names in time.
One funny moment was when Tony lethbridge was introducing old riders and mentioned Jack Geran who was there and said "Jack I remember in 19xx so and so (sorry i cant recall the name) accused you wrongly of taking him off and breaking his ankle."
Jack just looked up and said "Yeah I did and laughed"-some secrets take a long time to come out so it seems.
If you are coming down tonight have a great great time and make the most of it.
Such a shame Colin cant be there but Im sure he will be looking down on everyone and chuckling in his own way and be so proud to see HIS club leave the CG in this way and would have stocked up on truprint envelopes at the services for this one;)
RIP mate and make sure you are looking down as everyone connected with Exeter will be thinking of you mate.
