What a brilliant double. Well done Bomber and all the true speedway fans who made the effort to vote, doubtless several times! Can we go for the treble and get Chris voted Sportsview overall Personality or what ever the beeb call it these days? We almost ( well some of us oldies) nearly helped Briggo win it in 1964 but the beeb couldn't face that so fiddled it so that some footballer or darts player won it instead. Briggo finished second. It would be great for speedway if all the forums could generate that kind of support. Does anyone know if voting has started?

No Chance of him winning that one Tony
The BBC has already drawn up a short list and Chris is not on it

www.bbc.co.uk/midlandstoday/latest_stories/index.shtmlScroll down and click watch now on Harris wins personality award. Well Done Bomber Edit--only person likely to win national award is Lewis Hamilton imo and well deserved--but hey look on the bright side at least it involves an engine Lastly lets not forget who won the Unsung hero award in The Midlands awards and I believe also goes through to next weeks national awards. Brian Buck--The following speaks for itself -he won it for his dedication to cycle speedway and Sandwell for the past 30 odd years working with the kids-but also what he personally has done over the years to help Birmingham get relaunched is totally amazing. Quote "But the biggest well done and heartiest congratulations go to BRIAN BUCK for winning the BBC Midlands Unsung Sporting Heros award. Brian won it for his 30-year long devotion to Sandwell Cycle Speedway, but as well as that, Brummies fans owe him big time as well. Brian has been a Brummies fan since the 1940's / 50's and for the last 20+ years he has campaigned almost single handedly at times, and written in that time 2000+ letters to Birmingham Council, in a fight that led in the end to the return of the Brummies last year." Unquote So so Well deserved on the cycle speedway front let alone what he has help achieve for Birmingham speedway Sooo hope he is in with a chance in the nationals. Well done Brian. www.speedway-forum.co.uk/forums/index.php?showtopic=38747
