The meeting will take place at the Cat and Fiddle Inn, Clyst St Mary, on Tuesday 4 December commencing at 7.30pm. Current Falcons' owner Allen Trump will also be on hand to update the fans on developments regarding the proposed new track at Haldon. There will be the usual question and answer session, last chance of the year at the Beat The Starter competition to beat leader Rob Doran's time, and also a prize draw. Not forgetting the chance for the last time this season oops-edit -year (still in speedway mode!! -) to wish those Exeter friends that you may not have seen for a while a Very Happy Christmas and New Year for 2008. Another good supporters club evening with Allen again 100% emphasising his allegiance to Exeter and the supporters for the future outlining his plans. Was also wonderful to see that he also has the backing and presented with a cheque from Colin Hills estate which will go towards the next planning application costs and as Allen said I hope Colin is looking down and smiling tonight -or words to that effect. Peter Oakes was also very forthright in his views regarding young brit development and had many thoughts to convey Peregrinner will post a report of the evening asap and made a few notes this end as well. Especially nice to see one of the most Exeter faithful families celebrating-The Herds-hope I spelt that right-If not I apologise- Their young lad, that used to be at every meeting years ago in reigns aged about 2, coming along and celebrating his 18th birthday tonight with everyone and three generations of the family there-How time flies-and shows how much Exeter speedway means to families over the years. Many happy returns young man and welcome to the adult world Neil.Apologies if I have the names wrong. A very reassuring and very enjoyable evening all told. The only disappointment of the night and the worry for next year is that one of Mrs Class' daughters is pregnant again-which fair enough is great news in itself....but seems they didn't time it right and the baby is due on British GP day next year!!! and as she said, my daughter is upset about that, she said I guess I cant go next year Mum--but as Mrs Class said-"Well if you do my dear, the interval centre green attraction will be much more interesting than what they have served up for the past few years." Do we have any speedway loving midwives on this forum? ;D

Late, late, late report from another supporter.
Thanks to Nevs, as always, for prompt synopsis of proceedings.
What a magnificant turnout. So many people who still care and hunger for the return of Exeter Falcons. Good venue, better viewing and less leakage than the last venue we remember!
No doubt about it; we were thoroughly spoilt. Those that missed it; you won’t hear what was said published. Peter Oakes; so professional, his comments were said heart on sleeve. What a privilege to hear his stories first hand. Could have sat up listening all night, particularly hearing his about his friendship with Ivan and his opinions and passion for young British riders who are frustatedly denied progress in our current speedway climate (that is, if they have the focus and are guided away from distractions).
For British speedway to return to 1980’s glory, much is needed to be changed at management level. Independence of clubs would be ideal? However I believe there could be someone with a passion who could make a real difference in the future on the BSPA…... Allen Trump. also in attendance, gave the needed assurance that Exeter is still foremost in his vision. Colin Hill’s legacy of 10K being transferred to Allen for future costs…. How lucky Oxford and Coventry have been, in his interregnum.
Reporting back from recent promoters conference - Premier League is burgeoning now (better be room for Exeter next year!!) Elite and Conference leagues seem to be those most in need. If SKY withdrew support what would happen to their allegiance to the Elite competition……scary – will they focus on GPs and possibly go east to Scandinavia, Poland or even Russia…..Hope the Elite doesn’t become the Dilute league.
Appreciated those who kept the questions going when others at the back were too shy to ask.
Went home inspired, reassured….but hungry for 2009… Enjoy attending Plymouth and occasionally Somerset and Weymouth, good luck to Bodmin Beasts (or whoever) but, you just can't deny your loyalty to your first club…
Happy Christmas All x

It was one very good meeting with a special feel good factor.
We want to believe that everything will be going full steam ahead for 2009 and trust that all the pieces of the jigsaw will fit into place at the right time, but nothing is guaranteed as Allen has just found out with Oxford.
Coventry will undoubtedly be a good experience and I trust that they put a good team together to challenge Eastbourne as I was impressed by the line-up of Nicholls, Richardson, Kennett and Bridger.
I am looking forward to visiting the new clubhouse at Somerset early next year, and if the banking improves at Plymouth I may venture down there more often. I do like to see the 'whole track'.
Congratulation to Allen on getting Peter to open up to the questions and express his heartfelt opinions. We would love to see Mr Oakes back at Exeter in 2009 so keep that contact going.
It is difficult to keep the enthusiasm going when we have no actual racing but these evenings are our chance to express support for the man who can get Speedway back in Exeter so vote with your minds and bodies and keep turning up.
Next one : Monday February 4th 2008.
New Year - New 'Beat the Starter'.
