Just to let you all know how your money has been used,
we are sponsoring heat 2 which Chris harris is in, also we are sponsoring Mike Coles as an individual rider.
We are getting extremely good value as the whole package should be £250, but Sandie has said this is OK. (due to a lack of individual fuel/oil and insurance sponsorship.)
Hope that is OK with everyone.
See you all on March 16th ;D

Whilst we did get in some fuel/oil and insurance sponsorship we felt that there would be to many gaps on the programme for it to look good. So to everyone who has supported Nick in this event he has spread out your goodwill and filled in the gaps in the heats and riders. And as you guys are special you got a litle extra!!! See you all there Sandie

Tony is still sending out press releases for this.
Still without a track of their own Exeter speedway fans will be trekking across to Newport this Sunday (16 March) to support popular former Falcons reserve Nick Simmons’ testimonial meeting. Simmons has put together a top class line-up which will contest a 21 heat individual event. There will be plenty of Exeter interest as reigning British champion and Grand Prix winner Chris ‘Bomber’ Harris tops the bill and after his win in the Winter Classic at the Welsh track earlier this year must start favourite despite the presence of ex Newport Wasp and Danish international Niels-Kristian Iversen, and new Australian champion Chris Holder. Other former Exeter riders in the line-up are Falcons’ legend and all time highest point scorer Michael Coles, former skipper Paul Fry, and Leigh Lanham. Simmons’ meeting has certainly caught the imagination of the Falcons’ fans and those who stay in touch through the Exeter Forum have rallied round to sponsor a heat as well as Coles’ fuel, oil and insurance. Simmons rode for the Falcons from late in 2003 to midway through 2005, and was a member of Exeter’s Premier Trophy winning team. Sunday’s meeting starts at 1pm.

It nearly here and the tension is mounting. Been out shopping for all those extra little things needed. (Bottle of gin and red bull!!!) Bring your pennies as Nick has a track shop on the day - lots of goodies from pens to polo shirts and of course the the obvious raffle. See you all in a few days

Just to add latest news weatherwise from the BSF to hopefully put people minds at rest at this stage. From Vince the drainage is excellent which means that as long as it stops raining for a fairly short while you can get any standing water off the track and it will dry very quickly. The surface itself doesn't have so much clay in it and at this time of year they use less fines (dust) and more stone so that it doesn't turn to mush. Fine material will absorb and hold hold more water than coarse. Spoke to Tim earlier and he has been keeping an eye on the forecast and is confident the meeting will go ahead. He will let us know for certain later today so I will then post on here if somebody else hasn't already done so.
Again From Vince Nick and Tim have just got the latest forecast which is for rain overnight but blowing away by mid morning. The track is hammered in tight to allow the rain to run off and the meeting is 100% definitly going to run. From Nick Hi all, thanks for all your support of my meeting so far. Can't believe that this time tomorrow that it will all be over!
Just to confirm what Vince has said, the forecast is that the rain will pass by mid morning and the track will be in good condition. I've spoken to each rider and everyone of them is 100% up for it.
This just leaves to to confirm that this meeting WILL be run tommorrow without doubt, so hope to see you all there.
From Sandie Wonder if we will sleep tonight - its a bit like waiting for Christmas day Have a great one guys.
