Attended the WSRA dinner at Leicester last night with former County Ground pits official Tony Ellis. Excellent turn out of Falcons riders. Ivan , Vaclav, Loramski, Matt Cambridge, and Steve Hone were all presnt along with ex promoter Peter Oakes. Terry Stone who rode for Exeter in 1964 was elected president for 2009.Terry does a great deal of work for the Speedway Museum. It was good to see Garry Stead in very positive form zipping around in his wheel chair. James Easter was delighte to hear you enjoyed his visit and would love to come back next winter.
Steve Hone took pictures at the dinner which will be posted on his web site. Nevsy knows about such things and will doubtless tell us were they can be found!

Glad you had a good night Tony. Steve Hone's photos from the evening can be viewed on by clicking on the following link. good-times.webshots.com/album/562665865iuLaTSEither view the photos page by page OR when the link opens chose the slideshow option in the box on the right-The best way to view them All Six Pages of them!! Likes his photos does Mr Hone! Some great photos there Tony,I always enjoy looking at Honies snaps after he attends the dinner each year. Especially nice to see the Ex Exeter riders there-more none so than Loramski and his wife Flo-Good to see them smiling after all he has been through. I am sure Matt Cambridge is gradually turning into Dave Gahan from Depeche Mode!!--Look alikes or what!! I cant believe how Tracey Bennett-Steve Regelings ex wife hasnt changed a bit--she looks just the same as she did at the county ground all those years ago. Some great great pictures there Tony--Thanks for bringing it to our attention and when I speak to Honie or Sarah in the chat in the next day or two I will thank him for the photos Particularly this one--Shouldnt your top button be done up at all times Tony? Thats what Grandma Nevs taught me anyway...... ;D

i thought 6 pages of pics was pretty tame for me!!
it was a good night, and it was good to see the two Tony's there, Lethbridge & Ellis.
for me though, the highlight of the evening was seeing Garry Stead looking so well and cheerful .. top bloke.

Tony, I have just spoken to Steve through Sarah and Steve is fine that we can use any of his pictures on the website no problem ignoring copyright. I am on holiday next week so will sort through the Exeter ones of interest and get IDH to add them to the website-or if IDH would prefer he can take a look through himself and use the Exeter ones to post in his photo section in the main menu. Many thanks to Steve for agreeing to this-It has cost me either 47p a snap or some bird food for his beloved dancing Cockatiel --I jest-Steve is fine with that and always talks about Exeter fondly whenever I have spoken to him--either pick em out IDH or will send you them next week.

Steve
We never did get the dent out of that gate. I reckon you just did it to annoy us.
Thanks for the pics. It really was good to see Garry Stead in such good spirits. Made my evening too.
