2.The latest round of the local Cycle Speedway at the Cofton Road Wheel Centre was run over three pairs groups followed by a junior challenge match. In group ‘C’ of the pairs event Charlie Jane Herbert and Matt Trechmann showed their intentions from an early stage with some great racing in their first ride to turn a 7-3 against them to a 6-4 heat win, a determination they kept up through the evening to finish in front on 22 points from Julian Way / Tanisha Heyde on 20 points. The ‘B’ group saw some close fought racing and went to the last race to decide the result. Sam Dart won the race but Aaron Coles / Tim Lake kept Jamie Borrowdale at the back to leave a 5-5 shared heat and a draw for first place on 21 points for Sam Dart / Jamie Borrowdale and Joe Avery / Corey Heyde. Group ‘A’ also saw some good racing with Thomas Reed / Craig Nethercott eventually coming out on top with 21 points from second placed Dominic McCrae / Aaron Herbert on 19 points. The Junior challenge saw Will Tidball race to an unbeaten 16 point maximum while Scot Borrowdale won the scrap with Ryan Coles for second place finishing on 13 and 12 points respectively.
