Time 14:20hrs
For anyone travelling to the Pairs from the Exeter/Devon area & beyond. The M5 is currently queued up on the Northbound carriageway from just north of Taunton, back to at least the Wellington junction, and beyond. I don't know how far it goes back as I came off at Wellington on my way home..........................the queue is probably over 10 miles long
So if you can, think about another route.........A303 maybe. Obviously all the A Roads in the Taunton area are very congested

Had a text at 17.34 saying junction 22 was closed.
Just had a call from Peregrinner who has just arrived at the track after leaving Exeter at 4-It has taken them 2 and a half hours on what is normally less than an hour.
He said the traffic on the motorway is totally at stand still ,but as he was about to hang up he said it had just started moving very slowly again although I bet the queues are for miles.

Hindsight is always the best advisor and I heard from Bandaid/Medic that the best route in was to come off at J23 and turn right then come back across the Motorway at J22. We queued all the way through Highbridge after coming off at J23 and when we got to the stadium the M5 was parked up. We made the best decision that we knew but there was a better one. It was worth the effort though as the racing was top quality and it included riders colliding without coming off, as well as some passing at key moments in the racing. I would have been singing the praises of the meeting if it had not been for the even better racing at Cardiff topped off by our very own Chris Harris winning the event. My air horn froze to my hand!
