Surprised no-one else has posted here; so as a ‘veteran’ after three visits (completely unconnected with the new enterprise) here goes:
I am still pinching myself - how lucky we are to have live speedway in our midst and locality after such a traumatic few years with the loss of Exeter, Weymouth and Trelawny. What a thirst and need there clearly is for our sport. Many of the fans are new too; hungry for information and input. Even at the first meeting – new supporters were referring to ‘ us’ and ‘OUR team’ .
What a product we have and such a catchment area to draw upon.
If you love speedway, sometimes in the raw (apart from Seemond, who is such a class above and such an inspiration) give yourself a night at Plymouth.. Skill might not be refined at this stage, but the learning curve is immense and so satisfying to observe.
At this level the racing is always committed; no room for prima donnas; just good, honest effort. Such a privilege to see youngsters 15/16 years old, who impress. You will always remember when you saw them first.
Location is ideal and, considering its infancy, facilities are fine. Great to see Exeter personnel supporting this venture too.
Congratulations to all concerned – so refreshing; without complacency too – feedback is obviously welcomed and action taken to remedy and improve.

Sorry about this headmistress. Erudite comes from Latin eruditus, from e-, "out of, from" + rudis, "rough, untaught," which is also the source of English rude. Hence one who is erudite has been brought out of a rough, untaught, rude state.

You may also find the Lesser Spotted headmistress there at times as well

Hence one who is erudite has been brought out of a rough, untaught, rude state. Well, I'm not from North Devon; so there's a bonus!! ;D Thanks for that translation (I think..) Stevie B!! ;D Anyway - the point of this thread is not the take the p*** out of Headmistress; but to celebrate the continuity of our beloved sport in the South West. Somerset is a great product; but you are more likely to see the Lesser Spotted H closer to the Devon/Cornwall border on a Friday night these days. Stevie - you should try it sometime!
