THE TIME HAS COME. I spoke to both Ashley Taylor and Graham Smith tonight and an article will be appearing in the local Cornish press in the next week or so requesting that local speedway fans add their support to the application, NCDC have been warned that the Exeter application brought 1200 letters of support. They would both welcome any support that this forum can provide, the actual application can be viewed on the North Cornwall District Council website under planning register and is under applications for last week APPLICATION NUMBER IS 2008/01894 ** Mod edited for actual planning link by Nevs** onlineplanning.ncdc.gov.uk/eaccess/Planning/Application-summary-Information/index.asp?AppNo=DCFCFC7C0DFCEC7C6CBCE mail comments can be sent to :- development.control@ncdc.gov.uk or via letter to Development Control, NCDC, 3 Barn Lane, Bodmin, PL31 1LZ Please ensure that there is an address for you so that a reply can be sent to you and eventually the decision of the planning officer/committee... If you are adding your support from a distant location it would be useful if you could include a reference to bringing support to the local economy, staying locally etc. Those of you who dont know Bodmin is is a very pleasant market town and can be reached from the North via the M5 and then the A30 which is dual carraigeway from Exeter down except for a short distance immediately to the north of Bodmin. The track location itself is adjacent to the A38 road from Plymouth at Bodmin Rugby Club BUT it is the point where the A38 and A30 merge into one. The town has an ASDA, Morrisons, several chippies, a number of pubs that do food, an Indian (Pretty good one at that) Keep an eye open on the way down for the Dingles Steam Village sign at Lifton just before you cross the border where you will be made very welcome by Poole supporter Roger Alford, Eastbourne supporter Kyra a daughter of a long time sponsor at Eastbourne (South Coast Vans) and if you are very unlucky me. have a snacck, a thrash on the dodgems and noahs Ark and become a recycled teenager. The track design is as far as I know being done by Brendon who was the designer of the old Trelawny track and will be very similar so should provide lots of lines, the rugby club bars etc are already in place as is a golf driving range, Lanhydrock house (NT) is close and should keep lots of wives/mothers amused for an afternoon. The Eden ptoject is close by and back up the A38 towards Plymouth is Bodmin Parkway station which is on the main line and there is a bus service from there that I think passes the track on its way into Bodmin. there certainly used to be a late train service back up to London at about 2245 or so, not sure if there still is. Trago Mills for those who have heard of it is not very far away to provide all its discoun t shopping and picnic grounds. Can I thank everybody who writes in support on behalf of Ashley and Graham and I certainly hope they will succeed where I failed. GOOD LUCK LADS Go to the top of the pageReport Post

Great news Barnecooseboy, very best of luck to them. Below are some of the speedway links to forums that I used and joined when doing the rounds spreading the word on the internet about the Exeter application if its any help--Had a few late nights doing that little lot!! Just click on the links below after the red bit and should take you direct to each forum. I have checked the links from when I did it and they still appear to all be working. Best to probably use the link onlineplanning.ncdc.gov.uk/eaccess/Planning/Application-summary-Information/index.asp?AppNo=DCFCFC7C0DFCEC7C6CBC to directly link people to the application rather than faffing around trying to find it. You will probably need to register on many of the forums to post and wait for the password to come back etc etc-then just copy and paste the same message on each one,and maybe just tailor the first line of introduction to each individual track. Yahoo speedway forum autos.groups.yahoo.com/group/speedway/messagesObviously you know Plymouths... www.plymouthdevils.co.uk/ForumsPro.htmlSomerset rebelmike.proboards22.com/index.cgiHull www.hullvikings.com/new/index.phpPoole users.boardnation.com/~poolepiratepostbagKings Lynn starsrus.proboards3.com/ Birmingham www.brummiespeedway.net/forum/Weymouth www.weymouthspeedwa.proboards44.com/Berwick www.berwickspeedway.co.uk/Cradley cradleyspeedway.proboards98.com/index.cgi?Oxford cheetahschat.proboards76.com/ Swindon www.swindon-speedway.co.uk/module-htmlpages-display-pid-54.phtmlReading www.readingspeedway.com/forum.htmlBelle Vue www.belle-vue-speedway.com/ Ipswich padwick.proboards13.com/Speedway updates general board speedwayupdates.proboards103.com/index.cgi?board=generalHope thats of some help-Have some fun registering and copying and pasting your message on those forums as a start.-Or pass the links on to the guys trying to get this up and running if its any help to the cause. Gave up after that little lot!!--Some are official some are unofficial, but I know a fair few people from most of those places took the time to say they sent an email or letter of support--or they said they did!!--Every single one helps. Have fun and best of luck. I tended to join a couple of forums every couple of days, rather than all at once and a councillor find 40 emails one night and then none for two weeks-and spread it out a bit. With regards to the British speedway forum I would pm a mod on there (Probably Lioness would be your best bet) ask if its ok to duplicate post it in a few sections of the forum,eg EL ,PL,CL,and explain you want the maximum number of people to see it, some people only read elite league etc and what you have posted so far in speedway general discussions may tend to get lost as its not a direct referral to the planning application having gone in as a new thread on its own and there will be many people who will miss it. Although technically it goes against forum rules as multiple posts,I found at the time they were ok with it if it meant it could possibly help in letters of support supporting a new track-wether that is still the same now I am not 100% certain but I am sure lioness would be able to put you straight on that one if you ask her nicely. They were fine when I asked If I could do the same with the original Exeter planning application. Best of luck to all involved.

Saw Chairman Gordon about a week ago, thankfully he spoke to me because he looks completely different with no beard.

originally it was to be decided under delegated powers but now it looks as if the planning have chickened out on that and it will have to go before the NCDC planning committee at a date to be decided. However it goes forward with full support from Bodmin Town Council which must carry some weight.
