Jack Nicholls, farmer from near Totnes, passed away suddenly this week. It was, apparently, his 50th year of supporting the Falcons and he had many friends connected with the sport.

I did not know Jack personally, although I remember his son at school, but my husband knew him through business. Having learned of his passing, I felt I should post this news, as many who knew him would wish to be informed.

How sad that he did not live to see the last meeting.

Our condolences to his widow and son Andrew.

I have discovered that the Matterhorn is not a suitable place to build our next track.

It was marvellous to see Jack's widow Bett and son Andrew at the county ground last night,even though the funeral is today (tues).

As she said Jack would have wanted her to be there.
I for one will miss my little chat with Jack at every meeting.

My thought will be with them this afternoon.
