May I be the first to congratulate Nevs,Craig and the team at the Malthouse for organising a great evening. ;D ;D
It was good to see Lol,Mike Coles,Seemond and Matt Bates all there enjoying themselves, along with numerous supporters.
I hope you managed to raise a good sum for the benevolent fund.

The Malthouse provided a wonderfully relaxed atmosphere for the event, but were very efficient when it came to supplying food and drinks.
Rob Doran created a very effective display at the point where people arrived, and despite the notice about not touching the display I saw a few people connecting with Ivan Mauger's Bike Cover.
Congratulations to Chris who organised the event with the help of Nevs and Craig and still attended even though it was on his 20th birthday.
Mike Coles is going to make the best of his time at Stoke although it is clear he wants to ride at Haldon in 2007.
Seemond and Matt Bates are looking forward to enjoying their racing at Plymouth.
Lol Hare reckons he will make many more Ipswich fixtures now that Mark Loram is riding for them.
A very enjoyable evening. Let's have more of these.

Sounds like a great night was had by all ! I'm gutted I couldn't make it due to having been laid low by a nasty cold & cough since last saturday. Especially disappointed to have missed out on renewing acquaintance with Lol again. Such is life, I suppose !!

We managed to raise £267,not as much as we had hoped, due to too much wind for the tethered hot air balloon in the car park during the day not actually being to take off,HOWEVER its £267 more than the speedway riders benevolent fund had on Sunday. Cheque will be in the post later this week. Many thanks to all that supported the event cos without you lot there we would have looked a right bunch of tits with all that stuff and a band and a million waitresses waiting and four of us sat there like Billy no mates ;D. Special thanks to The Malthouse team,Rob Doran and his young helper Chris,Vegas the band for appearing at a cheap rate,(spose Id better mention baldy chap Ivan M for helping with that at this point), Graham Hambly for travelling up to be master of ceremonies along with Tony Lethbridge,Craig for sorting all the microphones and DVD's and videos during the evening-Edit and little Gemma for running down with the DVD remote control once she had received a phone call saying we had left it at home-even though she moaned a bit and cost an extra packet of crisps at the shop after extensive negotiations-(the riders were easier to deal with on the phone than she was!!!!! ),and lastly the riders who attended AT THEIR OWN EXPENSE. Final thanks must go to LOL who travelled down from Ipswich on Monday even though he had felt unwell on Sunday when he should have travelled down. Was a great night. Ps-Still think the funniest bit was St Seemond winning the girls three wheeled pink scooter in the raffle and the ribbing he took-and even funnier when Carol offered to swap it for something else, but he wasnt having any of that and kept it-Wonder if he will ride it at Plymouth ;D

If you missed it = you missed IT! What a great evening! Thanks to Nevs, Craig and all for organisation. Thanks to Malthouse for excellent food and attentive service. Thanks to Graham Hambly for his usual high standard 'BBC' interviews. Thanks to Seemond and Matt for their contribution in speaking to the 'crowd' assembled. Might have missed Colesey if he did speak, but good luck for the Potters 2006! Thanks Ivan M. for arranging the musicality. Finally, just so moving to see Lol. Great to see him - did anyone congratulate him on his recent engagement - I was just so tongue-tied I couldn't say anything to him - just exchanged a smile mid corridor. Thank goodness the balloon had a wind problem; my tummy had been rumbling all the way up the A38 with the thought of being enticed upwards - so I do have some some kinda empathy with the thing.
