Each team is allowed ONE experienced rider on an 11pt average if they so wish - so long as that rider rides in nothing other than the Conference League.
Some teams choose to do this (like Mark Burrows at Wimbledon and Wayne Carter at Scunthorpe) so why can't Plymouth?
I'm sure Seemond will be expected to help and advise the youngsters. I don't imagine for one minute Plymouth would sign him if he was there just to score as many points as he could each week - I expect his role will be much more than that.......

also stated that seemond, matt bates tom brown and chris holder have agreed to ride trying to get a few more but those were the names he mentioned dont know much about chris but the other 3 are ok arent they. Chris Holder is 2 times Ozzie U21 Champion and has signed for the Isle of Wight. He is far too good for the Conference League so maybe he has signed for an open meeting of some kind??? Unless there is some rule that because Chris has never ridden in the UK before he is allowed to ride in the CL??? Has the makings of a good team if what you state is true. Tom Brown is a real trier and Matt Bates is still technically a reserve at CL level so he can get stuck in without the pressure of having to score too many points to start with. Edit: Cannot see looking at rules how Chris Holder would be eligible for the CL

There will be a maximum of 9 teams at CL level for this season so there will no doubt be plenty of riders available.

I thought that David Mason had signed for Plymouth ? I agree with Paul on Chris Holder, but who knows what the conference rules are these days ??!! Just to make it clear I have no objection to Seemond riding in the Conference - good luck to him and I'll be at Plymouth cheering for him every week - but I still fail to see how he can be riding as a Heat Leader in the PL then simply drop into the conference league. Having said that we should not have the number of foreigners in the PL that we currently do - it really galls me when you have British riders stood on the sidelines with foreigners who are no better taking their places. Surely something must be done about this for the future of British Speedway - can we not have a system where bonus points are not counted in the PL averages for British riders but are for foreigners in future as this will give the guys more of a chance than the current 2.5 % reduction. The reason that I suggest this is that the British guys who tend to get pushed out of the PL are second strings who tend to rack up a few bonus points.
I feel better after that patriotic rant !!!!!

Nowadays we are all European but it does say something when foreign riders can come over here and be so much cheaper than the British riders, but I suppose that the amount of money they need to have made come the end of the season is that much less. However, I am sure that if anyone was to ever challenge the rule where British riders get a 2.5% reduction they would win as it must be against EU law to discriminate like that.
