The 2009 Grand Prix has come around so quickly.

Any takers for the new season?

Rules:

1. You select the finalists for each round in order.

2. Points are awarded as follows:

25 points for your rider No.1 in first place
20 points for your rider No.2 in second place
15 points for your rider No.3 in third place
10 points for your rider No.4 in fourth place

5 points if you picked the winner in the wrong position.
4 points if you picked the second placed rider.
3 points if you picked the third placed rider.
2 points if you picked the fourth placed rider.

3. Bonus Points

One Bonus point will be awarded each round for naming a rider with his correct points total (That rider must score 3 points or more). You may pick a maximum of two riders for your bonus points.

4. Entries must be in at least two hours before the start of each event although we do make allowances for special people.

5. This competition is purely for fun although we sometimes award prizes at the end of the season.

A very valid point about wooden spoon,is currently in a kitchen in Workington,kindly handed over from Headmistress from the year before on a trip to Derwent Park on the night of the last Gp I seem to recall and a few frantic phone calls whilst peregrinner was still trying to work out the points and if the wooden spoon should be left there or brought back to Devon. --Thats how close it was in the end. I am sure Headmistress will recall the stress of that last half hour. The coveted wooden spoon delivery is taken very seriously at the end of the season.It even has green and white ribbons.

I hereby promise to sort the logistics somehow to get the wooden spoon from last years rightful winner,to whoever wins it this year.

Just for the record, it was HeadMASTER'S to lose last year. It was our pleasure to deliver said item to Liz at Worky in the track shop last year. Very likely, weather and school hols depending , could be in said area next area.

So Nevs, hereby "promising to sort logistics etc.," we could possiby pick it up from up North and bring home if helpful.

Could just raise the question - I can't actually remember the massive trophy for winning this prestigious competition? Only an elegant wooden implement. adorning the saucepan area, decked out in green and white.

Just worried the spoon might becoming more important item than than striving to be the top.

Please Peregrinner; if you think that entrants are not 'racing' in the true spirit of this competition, because they fancy the honour of the spoon, please deal with, in the usual manner. ;D
