I must say it was a pleasure to finally meet I.D.H and Squibby last night,would have been nice to have longer to chat but there was a somewhat 'lively debate' in progress ;D catch you next time guys...
Also,thanks to the the lovely Headmistress and geoff for the wonderfull Taxi service.Great to catch up with some old faces too.......Shame Nevs was there ;D ;D

Like you said more of a chat next time.
Nice to see headmistress's taxi service was more reliable than the trains.
How did you do at beat the starter. We should have been good the bike was our era.

Lets not go there with regards to Beat the Starter eh Ian?  ;D   Warning-Adults only humour-It is the Somerset having a larf forum after all rebelmike.proboards22.com/index.cgi?board=jokes&action=display&thread=1138710188Certainly was a good evening and a laugh along with the serious bits as well-brightened up a rather dreary winters evening with no speedway to look forward to at the moment and nice to see all the faithful turning up,many of whom havent had a chat together since October and all smiling and having a laugh-well apart from 2 that is-is there no pleasing some people-What were they on?!!!. Lets hope these sort of meet ups can continue until we get a new track. Many thanks to those that arranged it. |

A successful evening I feel. We cancelled the quiz but what we got was better. We now know that the target date is March 2007 (Be quiet all of you who remember the target date being 2000 then 2002 then 2004 and 2005). Things are going on and we have to be patient. One year of biting the lip for 25 years of Speedway is worth it. The collection for Toni Svab raised £200 and we are very grateful to everyone who contributed. The money is needed now and it will be despatched as soon as possible. We heard that the CARD was left behind after the event but it has now been recovered and will be sent on to Toni in due course. Gordon kindly began his "Beat the Starter" competition that we hope to run at all future events. If he kept a record of all the times I shall put them up for everyone to view. Donations to the "keep the website" fund may result in the removal of an embarrassing time. The Malthouse were happy with us and kindly produced several plates of chips for us to enjoy. The only thing missing was a speaker. We had two microphones but nothing to plug them into. I hope you could all hear most of what was said. The next scheduled event is the "10th Anniversary of the Malthouse" meal with special guest Lawrence Hare. If you book in advance for a table on Monday 6th March and mention 'SPEEDWAY' you will receive a 35% discount. It should be a good night and a chance to sample good food at a very reasonable price. i did keep a record of all the gater times, so i will make sure they are passed on for inclusion along with the next set of times after our next meeting. hopefully we will have the gator at every supporters club meeting throughout 2006, to find a champion gator for the season !

Winkey, Do you think you would be able to bring it along on the 6th March fund raiser as an independant night with money raised less costs to riders benevolent fund? If so can you let me know asap so I can work out with Malthouse how everything is gonna fit in. Duo and disco confirmed today. With regards to the speaker Exeter Falcons I think I may have sorted that, fingers crossed,tremendous amount of noise coming from the lads room tonight on his keyboard-went up to ask him to turn it down and lo and behold there was a bleedin big one there connected to his keyboard!!! I said where the hell did you get that??? Just got to creep round his mate Dan Winchester now and see if he will let us borrow it off him for any future events-come on Dan you got your name mentioned you know you want to-pop along as well mate |
