FANTASY GRAND PRIX
The Fantasy Grand Prix will run once again in 2010. There is no prize and it should not be taken too seriously but as we all know it is a great feeling when you win, and you can only get that feeling if other people join in prepared to lose.
The rules are simple so anyone can understand them, apart from the bonus points which change every year and confuse at least some of the entrants early on.
You have to pick four Grand Prix riders in the order that you expect them to finish in the final of each event. If your pick matches the result then you score points as follows:
WINNER IN FIRST PLACE = 25 points
SECOND IN SECOND PLACE = 15 points
THIRD IN THIRD PLACE = 10 points
FOURTH IN FOURTH PLACE = 5 points
WINNER IN ANY OTHER PLACE = 4 points
SECOND IN ANY OTHER PLACE = 3 points
THIRD IN ANY OTHER PLACE = 2 points
FOURTH IN ANY OTHER PLACE = 1 point
This year to encourage people to go for the better riders, if you can correctly predict the number of points scored by a particular rider then you will score that same number of points. That way we may get a winner based on bonus points.
Example:
1. Mark Lemon
2. Mark Simmonds
3. Michael Coles
4. Nick Simmons
Bonus: Ivan Mauger 3,000,000 points.
Obviously this choice would score zero as none of these riders are in the Grand Prix and Ivan is unlikely to score that in a single meeting but you get the idea.
All entries are welcome so please encourage your friends from other forums to participate.
The schedule:
April 24th - Leszno - European SGP
May 8th - Gothenburg - Swedish SGP
May 22nd - Prague - Czech Republic SGP
June 5th - Copenhagen - Danish SGP
June 19th - Torun - Another SGP in Poland
(Should we call it the Tourun of Poland? How about the Baltic SGP?)
July 10th - Cardiff - British SGP (never heard of it!)
SPEEDWAY WORLD CUP BREAK
August 14th - Malilla - Scandinavian SGP
August 28th - Gorican - Croatian SGP
September 11th - Vojens - Nordic SGP
September 25th - Terenzano - Italian SGP
October 9th - Bydgoszcz - Polish SGP
