The Great Falcons' Gala Get Together will take place at the Twisted Oak Inn, Little John's Cross Hill, Exeter (sat nav EX2 9RG) on Sunday 26 August 2012 betwen 12 noon and 5.00pm. Admission is free. Guests of honour include Vaclav Verner, Richard Green, Peter Jeffery and Jack Geran who joined the Falcons 60 years ago this season. Hopefully plenty of other former Falcons will also be there depending on racing commitments. There will be an extensive display of Rob Doran's famous memorabilia collection as well as bikes and items generously loaned by other collectors. The pub is laying on an all you can eat BBQ at £6 a head, and of course the bar will be open! Come and meet up with old friends. Hope to see you all there.

This was a terrific event and much enjoyed by the many people who attended. Many thanks to Rob and Rose Doran and Beth Rowe, who missed out on Cardiff and instead spent all day Saturday setting up the memorabilia display which took up the entire skittles alley. There was an excellent turn out of riders including Vaclav Verner, Richard Green ( who dashed back from his holiday in Corfu to be there), Pat Flanagan, Jack Geran, Peter Jeffrey, Mark Simmonds, Steve Brennan, Mike Bowden, Rob Wilson, Benjii Bealy, and Mattie Bates plus several up and coming local youngsters. A major surprise was the appearance of Mike Farrell who had been with Crumpie at the Millennium Stadium the night before. We were also pleased to welcome Estvan Erban, the owner of the Jawa Company. Thanks must go to Gerald Gibbons, Steve Brennan and Mattie B for bringing their bikes. Steve even went grass tracking around the Twisted Oak orchard.John Burley brought along his collection of County Ground rider pits name boards from 1972-2005. It was a really good occasion. Sorry if I've missed anyone out and yes the BBQ was top notch.
