Is anyone up for a Fantasy World Cup competition?

IDH and I talked about this some time ago but it never got off the starting grid.

I have modified my existing spreadsheet so the scores are very similar to the Fantasy Grand Prix.


There are still no prizes but I think I may buy all entrants a beer at a venue in Exeter sometime this summer.

The rules are simple.

You have to pick the placings for the four teams in each event.

If your pick matches the result then you score points as follows:

WINNER IN FIRST PLACE = 25 points
SECOND IN SECOND PLACE = 15 points
THIRD IN THIRD PLACE = 10 points
FOURTH IN FOURTH PLACE = 5 points

WINNER IN ANY OTHER PLACE = 4 points
SECOND IN ANY OTHER PLACE = 3 points
THIRD IN ANY OTHER PLACE = 2 points
FOURTH IN ANY OTHER PLACE = 1 point

I know this guarantees loads of points but I am using an existing spreadsheet.

BONUS Scores:

If you can correctly predict the number of points scored by a team then you will score the same number of points. The points are for first place, second place, third place and fourth place rather than being associated with a team (e.g. You pick Team GB to win on
56 points and Australia win on 56 points you score 56 points).

N.B. If you allocate 37 points to third place and fourth place scores 37 points then you get nothing.

I think the bonus scores will be the deciding factor.

EVENT 1

1. USA 99pts
2. Russia 67pts
3. Denmark 43 pts
4. Poland 10pts

EVENT 2

1. Germany 45 pts
2. Czechs 44 pts
3. Australia 43 pts
4. Team GB 5 pts


Everyone is welcome to participate, whether or not you once supported Exeter Falcons Speedway Team.
