Not sure if this has been posted before, but a site with some Exeter footage has come to my attention that gives a different slant on the closure. I found it kind of moving to watch, and if you haven't seen it, it's well worth a look. www.imvarma.co.uk/projects/dirtheaven.htmlApologies if it's "old hat", thought I'd mention it just in case anyone hasn't seen it

What a fascinating little film - certainly something I've not seen before. As you say, it almost brings a tear to the eye. Great memories.

Wow what a brilliant and moving piece of film, i sat through the whole thing with goose bumps. Would be great to let him loose on a highlights video of the history of the Falcons at the County Ground

Great piece of film-Never seen that before.
Have just emailed the guy asking if he would consider letting us post it as a sort of you tube easy access thing on main website so it doesnt get forgotten and lost in forum threads.

As I recall this was filmed over several weeks by a community group from Tiverton. The director was keen to do a low budget feature film about speedway, but am not sure that his scenario would have gone down well with died in the wool traditionist. The video, Which I think was actually filmed in 2003 (?), is very good and certain evocative of that time. The director sent me a copy after Colin's death but I think it had to go back as it was entered in a film festival in London.
