Nice to catch up with Headmistress and Headmaster last night at the OTA.
Must say i was impressed with the way they kept themselves warm during the racing breaks, before anyone gets the wrong impression they turned the back straight banking into a hill climbing training ground. ;D ;D ;D
Nigel you their or did you take a rain check?
Good to see Matt Bates get to within 1sec of the seniors times,

We were there.
I spent the evening with my mates from Reading.
Dawn lasted until Heat 9 before the cold was too much and she headed for the warmth of the clubhouse.
I stayed out in the frost until Heat 14 was completed then we went straight for the bar using the ice blocks on the end of our legs to get from step to step.
Once in the warm I decided to miss Heat 15 which was, apparently, a good one. Can anyone talk me through it then I can picture it as if I had seen it.
Not being a Somerset fan I loved the 1-8 to Reading with Ulrich leading the way, and I think Speedway has missed a trick by not allowing more of this type of race, with "hope but no guarantee".
Henning Loof was the butt of a few jokes but apparently he has not ridden for years and is on poor equipment. Unless he invests he will not be around for long.
Brent Werner blew hot and cold, and Emil Kramer was dosed up on Paracetemol but won his first two races easily.
Loved the experience, hated the cold.
We will probably come and watch Nick Simmons and his team get a good thrashing next week, then we will definitely wait until it warms up.
Speedway is a summer sport, but each year the winter is mild until the Speedway season starts, then ..... instant snow.
It is currently snowing outside our window.
