memorabilia show at matford

hi all,
this posting is to record the latest round of the beat the starter competition at last weekends event but it seems very
insignificant after reading nev's posting about the vandalism
that took place only a stones throw away at the cycle speedway
track, what a sad world we live in !
it seems unbelievable that only a few hundred yards from
eachother were two sets of people whereby one set were intent
on destroying what the others love.
anyway here what happened on the good side of matford:-
rob doran put on a fantastic array of memorabilia with added
items supplied by gordon ward, tony lethbridge, pat gorman and
ken with the original exeter tractor. there were also freebies
given away as well as items for sale to raise funds for the
supporters club. also the latest round of the beat the starter
cometition 2007 took place and we even had chris julians son
and grandson have a go.
gordon ward set a new track record of .104 eclipsing the
previous best set at an earlier round by craig nethercott of .116
however later during the weekend rob doran set a time so fast
that allen trump says the ref would definately have pulled them
back for jumping the start, but this is an electronic timer and so
they all count. so robert is now the championship leader on .060.

Great to here that the memorabilia show was a success, i was hoping to get along as i have never seen Robs full display! so i was sad to have missed it, were there any piccies taken that could be put on the site.
