Sad to report that Pat Lethbridge, mother of Tony Lethbridge (Exeter press officer)and wife of the late Ted Lethbridge (Exeter's track man for many many years) passed away on Sunday. Pat had a fall six weeks ago and took a turn for the worse last Tuesday and passed away on Sunday morning. As Tony said she wasn't a great speedway fan herself, but helped Pam Oakes originally run the track shop and then managed it for Colin Hill until 1992. She also enjoyed accompanying Tony on away trips, especially to Newport and St Austell Thoughts are with you Tony,Chris and your girls at this sad time Also very sorry to hear that another Exeter character,Alan 'Ticker' Lang, that man about the County Ground that did all sorts and everything, also passed away yesterday. -What a great character he was indeed. RIP both of you.

So sorry to read this news. Didn't know either of Tony's parents as, unfortuately, chose to bypass speedway 1977-1997 due to other distractions, but the name Lethbridge is synonymous with the Country Ground era.
Nowadays there are not so many posts that stir the regulars; apart from a bit of banter on the fantasy GP site and such other silliness.
Haven't said before; but Tony's post following the Haldon disappointment was much appreciated. Honest, succinct and heart on sleeve. Well written.
Best wishes to Tony and family xxx

My sincere condolences to you, Tony, and to Chris and the family, at this very sad time. Your Mum lived to a grand old age.
Sally's and my thoughts are with you.
