I feel like a Bus, nothing for ages then two postings come along in one day.
Maybe one for you this Tony. I read in the Speedway Star this week of the sad news regarding the death of a former Falcon Wally Monckton, but haven't been able to unearth anything about him.
Any information would be most welcome.

Wally actually died last year and I did an obit for the Star at the time. He was a top grass tracker in the early fifties, and signed for Exeter in '52 as an 18 year old. Wally, from South Petherton, was a regular second halfer but only made a few team appearances. He also turned out for Harringay when the Racers rode a challenge match at the County Ground. Wally was a nice guy who attended several VSRA get togethers at the County Ground, and I understand his grandson is shortly to make a presentation at Somerset in his memory.

Thanks for that Tony, certainly wasn't a name I recognised and must have missed it in the Star last year. Wonder if we shall ever see a rebirth of the Second Halfers, it was certainly always entertaining that's for sure ......
