Would just like to say many Congratulations to Jo & Darren on the birth of their second baby raker, Camden, who joined us all at 6.20am this morning weighing in at 8lbs 15ozs.
For those of you into spooky things, how about this: Many moons ago, the proud new Grandparents, Mr & Mrs Claas got married on June 12th. (32 yrs ago to be precise but seems much longer!) Several years later, Jo & Darren move into their new house on ...... June 12th. 2yrs ago, baby raker number 1, Rocco, comes into the world on .......June 12th. Today, 12 days early, baby raker number 2 appears on .......June 12th!
We get a phone call from them at 4.30am to say that baby was on the way.................... "and we might be able to go to Cardiff now!" Nothing like getting your priorities right!!
Not expecting good results for this weeks GP from Darrenthe raker. Nearly had to show off his midwifery skills this morning. Having booked a home birth through their local health centre which must be less than a mile away (and bearing in mind the RD&E can only be about 3miles away) poor Darren wondered where the midwife was. Turns out she came from PLYMOUTH and arrived less than 10 mins before the baby!!! I don't know which was worse Darren - I suppose she could have come from Torquay!
Anyway, its been a very long day - a bit like this posting!
Thanks very much Jo & D - not everyone gets such special Wedding Anniversary presents!!

Ahhh Bless.... Many congratulations to Jo and Darren--and there you were berating Darren about two weeks ago, when we met, lecturing Darren about his getting the birth of baby times right at the supporters club meeting for Cardiff ;D--He who laughs last etc in Darrens case ;D Many congratulations to you all and a very warm welcome to Camden to the fun world of Speedway. May you guys as parents and grandparents have a great time with Camden and enjoy the early years, they soon grow up,my baby leaves school next Friday Enjoy.-(Couldnt find a smiley Baby thingy) so you will have to make do with balloons. Maybe he just arrived early trying to find out about Haldon or wants Grandma to look after him when his mum and dad go to Cardiff-sounds like a canny kid already Very best wishes to you all from us on here.

Many congratulations to Jo and Darren on the safe arrival of Camden.
(8lbs 15 enough to make your eyes water)
Thats the easiest way to remember birthdays, have them all on the same day .
All the best to everyone

Congratulations. I trust that Allen will have a special "Family Enclosure" at Haldon Hill just for the Rakers. See you there spring 2009. Don't worry about missing Cardiff. There is no way we can relive the High Point of 2008 when Chris Harris came from last out of the gate to win it on the final corner of the final lap of the final race. Have you bought Camden a bike yet?
