Local Exeter lads Henry Atkins and Richard Andrews will both return for Plymouth Devils in the National League campaign 2018. Good news. Also, I understand that as well as Matt Bates being the new Devils Team Manager and Robert Doran the Clerk of the Course, Alan Spencer will be the Pits Marshall. The Falcons will, I believe, utilise the St Boniface Arena as their 'home' track for Southern Development League meetings in 2018, rather than Somerset's Oak Tree Arena.

Oh dear !!
I suspect that the 29 - 61 reverse at home to the Mildenhall Fen Tigers tonight in the National Trophy is the Devils worst home performance ever.
Henry Atkins top-scored with 9 from 5 rides, and Richard Andrews scored 4 points.
One Tiger to remember for the future. Drew Kemp. Remember that name.

The Devils slipped to a 43 - 46 reverse away at Kent Kings recently. Leading by 5 points after 13 heats, they suffered two 1-5s in the last two races. Hard to bear, but a point at least.
Henry Atkins scored 10+1 from his rides, and Richard Andrews just 4 from six outings.Richard fell victim to two retirements as well as a fall, so not the best of nights for him.
( sorry for late report - been away )

It was a tough Sunday for the Devils, riding away at Mildenhall in the National Trophy.
They went down 25 - 64, with top scorer Adam Roynon the only Devil to take the chequered flag in any of the 15 heats. In doing so, he spoiled the full maximum chances for Danny Ayres, who won his other four races.
Henry Atkins battled to 7 + 1 from 6 outings, suffering two exclusions along the way. Richard Andrews suffered, scoring a single point from five rides.
Hey ho. Onwards and upwards, as they say !

A much more productive evening for Richard Andrews, as he racked up an 11 point total from a full seven rides in the home meeting against Belle Vue Colts in the National League on Friday 1 June. This included two heat wins, and one fall. Henry Atkins also won two races in amassing 9 points from 6 outings as the Devils sneaked home 46 - 44.
Adam Roynon top-scored on 17 from six, including the best race of the night when he was crowded out from the start but passed both Colts to take the win. Danyon Hume beat Roynon in heat 6. Not the greatest of racing, to be honest, but a good win for the Devils.

Richard Andrews continued his high point-scoring form with 14 in the Devils comfortable 54 - 36 home win over Isle of Wight Warriors in the National League this evening.
Henry Atkins also profited, scoring 12 + 2.
Two of the Falcons' SDL squad took part as guests, Saul Bulley with 0 for Devils and James Chattin with 1 + 1 for Warriors.
