The Devils went down 41 - 49 away at Eastbourne Eagles on Saturday night, in a National Trophy group meeting. Not a bad effort really.
Richard Andrews is becoming something of an enigma as regards anticipating what his form will be like for any given meeting. He had six outings at Arlington, but scored just 2 + 1, running three lasts and also falling in one race.
Devils used Danyon Hume as a guest, and R/R for Henry Atkins, who I believe is away at a grasstrack meeting over the weekend. Hume won four heats, and added two third places as well. The two Devils reserves, Andrews and Leek, contributed just three points between them, when a slightly better performance would have seen Devils pick up at least a point. Not important really, as they could not have qualified from the group anyway.

A great effort from the Devils saw them pick up a point away on the Isle of Wight on Tuesday evening, going down 44 - 46 in a National League encounter.
This is the first time the Warriors have beaten Plymouth in several meetings, and was probably due to a nasty fall by Adam Roynon in his third ride. Both he and Warriors new recruit, Alfie Bowtell, fell but Roynon could not continue. I believe he has an arm injury but have no further details as yet. Roynon had won his first two outings.
Henry Atkins top-scored for Devils with 12 points from 6 rides, and Richard Andrews scored 7 + 1 from his 6 rides.
UPDATE on 13 June
Adam Roynon has a dislocated shoulder and a fractured humerus in one arm, so will be out for some weeks. Bad news indeed. Get well soon Adam.

Another very close meeting at Plymouth tonight saw the Devils run out winners by 46 - 44 against the Coventry Bees in the National League.
Henry Atkins scored 9 + 1 and Richard Andrews 6 + 1.
New signing Ben Hopwood rode at number 5 in place of James Cockle, and top-scored with 12 + 1 from 5 outings. As a guest for the injured Adam Roynon, Danyon Hume contributed a steady 9 points. Bradley Andrews is still out injured, so Devils used R/R for him.

The close meetings continue at the St. Boniface Arena.
Henry Atkins ran four second places for a total of 8, and Richard Andrews scored four third places and a fall, totalling 4 + 1, as Devils beat Kent Kings 47 - 43 in a NL encounter.
Andrews was riding at the difficult Number 2 slot following a revision of averages, whereas Ryan Terry-Daley was down at Number 6. It obviously helped the latter, who top-scored with 12 + 1. Danny Ayres proved an able guest for Roynon, adding 11 + 1.

Sadly, a lean night for both Henry Atkins and Richard Andrews as the Devils went down 32 - 58 away at Mildenhall on Saturday evening 7 July, in a NL encounter.
Atkins scored 5 and Andrews just 2.
New signing Ellis Perks managed 10 + 1 in his first meeting as replacement at Number 1 for long-term injury victim Adam Roynon.

A comfortable win for the Devils at home to the Isle of Wight Warriors in the NL tonight. They eased away during the second part of the meeting to win 54 - 35.
Henry Atkins scored 12 + 2 and Richard Andrews had his best night since moving up to a second-string berth by notching 7 + 3.
A nice mid-table slot so far for the Devils.

It was a great night for both Henry Atkins and Richard Andrews on Weds 25 July, as the Devils pulled off a stunning 50 - 40 victory away at Birmingham Brummies. In a solid all-round team performance, Atkins was joint top scorer with guest Alfie Bowtell, both notching 10 points. Richard Andrews scored 7 + 2. Special mention for reserve Macauley Leek, who rides for the Falcons in the SDL as well as in the NL for the Devils. He scored 7 + 3 for what must be his best showing in a Devils racejacket.

Not based in Exeter any more, but Exeter born, Connor Coles made a return to riding after a long injury lay-off.
He took six rides for Buxton Hitmen in their NL meeting away on the IOW on Thursday 26 July, managing three race wins and a paid second to total a respectable 10 + 1. Buxton only managed 32 altogether.
Welcome back Connor.

A comfortable win for the Devils by 57 - 32 over the visiting Buxton Hitmen on Friday night 27 July. Henry Atkins and Richard Andrews both contributed 11 + 2. Connor Coles scored 6 points for Buxton and by all accounts looked a little ' ring rusty ' tonight. The three meeting points moved Devils up to a heady second place in the NL as it stands. Blimey !!
